Help! BSOD's Galore... ASUS A7V133A FIXED!

After switching processors, I got the following WIN98 error message immediately after boot-up:

"The volume that was removed had open files on it. Next time please check first to see if the volume can really be removed."

The I get a bunch of BSOD's...

Anybody know what is going on, and/or how to fix this?

TIA

did you format, do a clean reinstall of the os?

what are your system specs?

what steps have you taken leading upto and after the cpu swap?

Found the fix on the internet...

I have an ASUS A7V133A mobo with the flakey Promise controller. The fix was to download the updated WIN98 Promise driver from Microsoft. The problem was so common that someone created a web page describing the problem and the solution. 🙂 LINK
