After a brief visit to an XXX site (by my brother) my IE homepage automatically resets to this site every time I Restart my computer. I have deleted my cookies. I have deleted everything out of my temporary internet files. I go into Internet options and reset the homepage to what I want it to be, but when I restart the computer, that XXX site is set as the homepage.

While viewing the page offline, I looked at the properties and found this:

res://C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SHDOCLC.DLL/offcancl.htm#http://www.**********.com

Is this what is causing this automatic switch at start-up?? How can I get rid of this?

Someone PLEASE HELP!!

have you looked in the registry to see if the new site is listed as your start page?
use the edit/find feature in regedit to locate the correct key!

Yes, i cannot find it in the registry or through msconfig. It has got to have something to do with the code I put in the original post.

Check stuff that runs at startup carefully. I found a system once that had some obscure thing running at startup which contained the command to "fix" the registry each boot.

Anyone else recommend this Lavasoft thingy? I haven't been infected by anything malicious but I'm all for keeping crap out of my PC! :)

I would second what Kranky had to say about the startup menu. Run msconfig and have a look around.
