HELP!... broke cpu fan for old p4

ok you guys are gonna laugh but one of the stock fins broke off the cpu fan of my old socket 423 p4.... and erm i need a replacement or i cant use it... the stock one also used to screem like a pig and i didnt like that... any suggestions? i need it quick!

actually im not sure what socket it is but if i run anything, this hoarse noise comes up and i cant bear it... and im afraid my cpu will fry b4 i get pc wizard installed..


its a 1.8 ghz from a compaq pressario... since my stock 478 didnt fit on it b4, i think its 423...

I don't want to know how you broke it :D

I have no idea what kind of HSF you need but for now here is what I would suggest.

Since the fan is now junk, remove as much of it as you can and still have the HS attached
to the CPU. Then bond or tie(with zip-ties) a new fan to the sink. This will keep the comp
up&running while you shop. An 80mm fan at 30cfm with no sensor/tach wire will atleast
let you surf.
