HELP! Black and White wont save my games!

I have been playing this game for months now and lately I cannot save my progress anymore! When I play for a bit (im in level 3, the mission that I have to rescue my creature) and attempt to save at the temple or just save on exit my PC creashes with an error saying "MS c++ has caused an error" Any idea what this is? Only thing I did recently was install office XP. Help! Thanks.

Months and you are only on level 3?!?! I finished the game in a little over a week
(well i was sick with the flu and had oh 12 hours a day on my hands )... I had the same problem after installing XP.. after discoing XP no better than 2k I unistalled, still broken BW, so i download one of those creature backup files from planetbw.com & reinstalled BW. that worked

Cool, ill try that fix. The reason I am only on level 3 is because I have replayed the first couple of levels in different ways. I am getting the most out of this badass game. . XP screwed my system royally. I uninstalled and it crashed big time. I reinstalled office 2k and had the same BW prob. I uninstalled BW and reinstalled it and will try a backup file. Thanks for the info.

Check to make sure the files aren't marked as read-only. Sometimes other programs or something you wouldn't notice (like backing up to a cd) causes files to pick up the r-o attribute.

You have the beta patch from fileplanet right? Makes game a LOT more playable.

Bah...I just unloaded it and installed it from scratch. now I can redo it all again as a good god. Man this game has taken over all my free time.
