Hi gang, can anyone give me some tips as to the best way to install new video drivers for a GeForce 4 card in Windows XP. I am currently using a GeForce 2 card and would like to get the best install I can. Thanks.

Follow their instructions to the letter.

If after you follow their instructions you get a blank screen, then the driver is set to a resolution the monitor doesn't support. After rebooting into VGA mode, select the appropriate resolution and refresh rates for both the video card and monitor.

Some driver install packages need to see an IRQ, hardware signature, or specific chipset, others don't. Follow the manufactuers instructions.

Thanks Justin for the info. The way I have been doing it now in XP is unpack the drivers and then point XP to that file to update them. Do you see any problem with doing it that way?

Phil.
