Please accept my thanks in advance for any responses. (I'd also like to thank the regular contributors to the forum for their insightful advice on the various manufacturers of the NVIDIA 6800 cards -- it helped me determine that BFG was a good choice through Best Buy.)

I'd like to run some basic benchmarks of my ATI 9800 and my newly arrived Nvidia 6800. I am already familiar with Pro 3D.

I apologize for a really dumb question, but how do you run the benchmarks in Halo or Quake Tournament?

There is no benchmark or demo included in Halo with the basic installation. But the various magazines use Halo for this purpose. (Although it just occurs to me that I didn't look to see if it is on the CD but doesn't normally install -- ???)

In the case of Quake III Arena, does the command "/cg draw FPS" result in an average FPS report at the end of the demo -- or does it only show the FPS at any given point in time? If I recall correctly there is way to get a report of averaged FPS at the end of the demo but I don't recall how to do it. (I suppose I could also use Fraps but I assume using the internal Quake FPS counter is more accurate.)

I also am running Far Cry with Fraps. And I'll try Unreal Tournament 2003 -- is there a command line that I need to use when running the timed demo. I confess I haven't tried it yet so any advance tips would be appreciated.

Thanks again for your help -- and for the other postings on manufacturers of video cards.
