Help Audigy 2 ZS (gamer special edition) is driving me nuts!

I just finished building my first computer on my own (thanks Mechbgon for the guide). I am now going temporarily insane with my Audigy 2 ZS & Logitech 5300? Here is what has happened:

Loaded drivers disc 1 (installation & application cd)... had sound when windows logged off and booted up.

Loaded drivers disc 2 (eax 4.0 advanced hd driver installation cd) and there was no sound after reboot?

Played with all settings, nothing muted all settings good???

Reinstalled disc 1 (chose repair option)

on reboot enabled AC 97 in bios had sound!!!!

Reinstalled disc 2 (no sound).... so I'm thinking don't install disc 2

Reintalled disc 1 (chose repair option)......... NO SOUND?

And there is not setting to uninstall and Eax 4.0??????? Any ideas would be appreciated.
 
bump.. waiting for reply while my wife is checking her email on the new computer. I must say that I am very proud of my first build... thanks to everyone that helped me along on the journey. My last few hurdles should be resolved soon (I think the sound should be the last thing?).

The build doesn't take as long as it does to load everything and get the system the way I like it 😛 Installations, tweaking, and updating for the past six hours.
 
Wouldn't you know it.... nobody responds and I was disappointed. I walk back to the new computer and the first setting I check (THX) is set to digital. I changed it to analog and all is well.
