I have: Asus CUSL2-C, Cel 633a, Golden Orb. FSB set to 100. Voltage set to 1.75.
Not sure what stepping (c0 vs b0?) I have.

Question 1) Motherboard Monitor shows me two temps on the left. One was around 80 F, and the other was around 40 F. I'm assuming the 40 F is the CPU, because of others mentioning there OC's 633 running around 40 degrees. Is this a correct assumption? IF this is correct, what is the 80 F temperature? The Orb is plugged into the CPU fan header located by DIMM #1.

Question 1a) Should I instead use the motherboard monitering tool that came on the Asus CD? Might be a dumb question, but my first time around installing it, it came up with errors, and somehow messed things up such that I had to reformat. IF I should use it, does it require the LCM stuff (remote host updating, i think) in order to install? I ask this because I believe the error I mentioned earlier was "cannot find LC??? something".

Question 2) Is 1.75 V an okay temp top run this CPU at? Stock voltage is 1.65?

Thanks for all and any help!

no, 40F is your mb chip temp(which brings me to this question, where do you live?? That is friggin' cold).

80F would be your cpu temp. Most people report cpu temp in terms of Centigrade, so most cpu's are in the 30-40C range for p3s/c2s.

again, 80f is your CPU temp. No way that hte lower number is your cpu temp unless you're using watercooling/peltier.

you could probably go up to 1.85V with the orb, albeit i wouldn't go past 1.8v with that heatsink.

Keep MBM. Asus probe, especially earlier versions, have "issues".

You can always try the latest version of PC Probe, version 2.12.05, available here.
