Help! Asus a7n8x "system failed memory test"

Help! I just built up a new Asus A7N8X motherboard with a AMD 2400. I picked up two sticks of Corsair XMS3202 (256 meg 3200) sticks. I tried various combinations in popping 1/2 into slots 1, 2, 3 and everytime I power up I get a "System Failed Memory Test" voice message. My monitor doesn't even show a bios screen or anything.

Am I missing something? Could it be that I have TWO bad sticks of Corsair memory? That seems highly unlikely. Any suggestions, brain farts, whatever are more than welcome
