Issue: Asus A7N8X Deluxe couldn't post: no beep, no video signal, no bios.

Computer cconfiguration: (all parts are brand new ordered by newegg.com)
Power Supply: Antec 350W (tested and worked fine on other computers).
Mother Board: Asus A7N8X Deluxe rev. 2.00
CPU: AMD ATHLON XP 2500+ "Barton" 333 FSB PROCESSOR CPU
Memory: KINGSTON KVR333X64C25/512 512MB 32x64 PC2700 DDR RAM

Here are the attempts and symptoms:

1.On board LED light showed green and CPU fan spun during each attempt.
2. attempts with Memory on board: tried all the three slots and also tried
another brand now KVR333X64C25/512 module on all three slots
3. tried clearing RTC RAM/CMOS

attempt 1: with only CPU, memory, PCI video card on board: no beep, no vocal
message, no display
attempt 2: with only CPU and memory on board: no beep, no vocal message.
attempt 3: with only CPU on monther board, no beep, no vocal message.
attempt 4: took everything out of the board, got the vocal message "no cpu
installed". but got nothing (no beep, no vocal message, no display) after
installed the CPU back on board.

I didn't have a second good mother board/CPU to cross test CPU/mother board.

so, is there anything I'm missing? or any parts went wrong?

any suggests will be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums.

There are a few more things you can try. Obviously, two elements could be suspect: CPU or MB. Look to see if either part is visibly damaged. One or both could be fault, so try to prove that each part works. It is worth finding out what works rather than RMA'ing blindly. Take the parts to a computer store and tell them to try a different CPU in the board, or try a different board with the same CPU. If neither of these things are possible, then my guess would be the CPU is not working. Note that this isn't based on anything, just a shot in the dark. Good luck. Peace.

JSSheridan and danzig, thanks for the help.

Currently I don't have a a good mother board/CPU to cross test the CPU/mother board.

I will try a few more things and post what i get :
A. make sure no shorting points underneath the motherboard
B. clear CMOS and leave the battery out longer (10 minutes, as suggested by other users).

well, tried clearing CMOS and even left the battery out for ten mins. put an paper note pad underneath the mother board to do the test. still got nothing: no beep, no signal. will RMA back to newegg.com.
