[HELP] Are These Parts Compatible???

Hi all! I am planning to build myself a new Core 2 Duo CPU and here is my base configuration. Can you experts kindly check if the following parts are compatible with each other? I apologize in advance because I am "noob" when comes to hardware compatibility... Thanks in advance! 😱

* Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 Conroe 2.93GHz 4M sharing L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor
* ASUS P5W DH DELUXE/WIFI-AP Socket T (LGA 775) Intel 975X ATX Intel Motherboard
* Kingston HyperX 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model KHX6400D2K2/2G (x2)
* Inno3D GeForce 7950 GX2 1GB GDDR3 512-bit PCI-E Video Card
* Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic 7.1 Channels PCI Interface Sound Card
* Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3250620AS 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0 GB/s 16MB Cache
* LITE-ON 16X DVD±R DVD Burner w/ LightScribe and 5x DVD-RAM Write BLACK ATAPI/E-IDE Model SHM-165H6S
* Sony / Panasonic Floppy Drive (Black)
* Cooler Master RS-550-ACLY-SLI ATX12V/ EPS12V 550W Power Supply
* Cooler Master Praetorian 730 RC-730-KSN1 BLACK Aluminium ATX Mid-Tower Computer Case
* ZALMAN CNPS9500 LED 92mm 2 Ball Blue LED Light Cooling Fan with Copper Heatsink
* Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound
* Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP2

I looked through it real quick and it looks fine... maybe check to see if the cooling fan is for that processor... computers are just a bunch or interchangable parts so unless there is a major problem with a piece of hardware the only thing you should check is if your motherboard has a free port.

As far as compatible, most of the parts look oK. however, i think you should re pick some parts.

The X6800 is ridiculously expensive and i'm assuming you're not overclocking, so i dont see you benefitting from the unlocked multiplier on it. step the processor down, E6600 etc.
never really a fan of kingston memory, some of the new corsair memory is fantastic,and as always, OCZ, G.Skill etc. are other good options.Also, don't get the coolermaster power supply. Grab an enermax or seasonic instead, good luck with your build

don't you need the floppy for installing SATA drivers to install windows?

That's the only reason I still have one.

I know you can rebuild the windows install disk but its a lot of effort just to save on having an old floppy drive hanging out the side of one's case during the install.

yeah those parts are compatible but what are you planning to do with that computer that requires such high=end parts?

you could drop the 6800 to a 6600, the card to a x1900xt, and save a lot of money and still get very very good performance.

Hey thanks for the suggestions, So can anyone confirm if the Zalman heatsink is compatible with my CPU/Mobo/Case? Btw, this cpu i am building will be a "multi-purpose" CPU, I will play some of the latest games on it, watch HD movies, edit high resolution photos on photoshop, some basic and advance video/music editing etc... As of now i will just run this CPU on "stock" speeds, but who knows i will try to overclock it in the near future.... Also with the PSU, Why don't you guys recommend CoolerMaster PSUs? Are they bad PSUs or what? i will try to look for an Enermax or Seasonic PSU if there are available here in my place. Thanks again!
