Hi all,

I mistakenly bought a casing that comes with a P4 300W PSU. I installed a Intel 815 based system with a Celeron 900 in it previously and the mobo kept telling me that there's a problem with the memory. I had to give it a few reset presses to get it to work. I thought my 815 mobo was dead (it's just 1+ month old) but it was strange as it worked in my other casing b4.

Anyway, I plopped in a Epox 8KHA+ mobo with Athlon XP 1600 to try it out. Still the same thing. The mobo reports that there's a problem with the memory. This time, I'm not sure whether it's the RAM problem or the mobo or the PS problem as I'm using a PC2400 RAM; which shouldn't be a problem IMHO.

Can someone please help me on this?

Thanks.

Test out the RAM first, because why would you get a message about your memory if your power supply is bad? Try each stick one by one and slot by slot. The culprit is probably bad RAM. You could also get some software to test your ram if you'd like. I replied to a thread where I included a couple of links. Try a search under "RAM". Hope this helps.

I've tried out the SDR RAM on all slots and they are the same. Haven't had the chance to try out the DDR RAM I'm using for the Athlon mobo. I've read a couple of posts over at amdmb.com saying that the C1 problem could be becoz of the placing of the ram. Just how hard do I have to press the DDR RAM into its slot anyway?
