HELP: Anyone ever apply for Australian Visa?

My brother want to go to Australia this summer.
He already apply for the visa since May 6, 2003.
Till now we haven't heard any news from them.
They said it usually take most 3 weeks.

I try to call them to find out, but the D*mn operator won't let me talk with the officer :|
She said she only can direct the call if I know the extension number or the name of the person I'm looking for.
I even already pick a some random name more than once and none get it.
Even I already mention the consul name

Any suggestion?
or maybe some AT member are Australian or even the officer.
Help me out here.

Why does your brother need a VISA?

Is he visiting for Vacation for less than 90 days? I hope the answer is yes.

Is it for work or longer than 90 days or school?

I have gotten a visa for AU before. Really nice place btw...Anywho, when I travelled there it was for business and my travel agent simply told me that I would need a visa and that they would apply for it for me. Sure enough, in about two weeks, I had a AU visa. If you are having difficulties, you might try contacting a travel agency and seeing if they can give you any advice.
