help! any usb diagnostics software??

Well for whatever reason this morning when I turned on my work pc the usb ports - none of them - seem to be responding. My mouse doesn't work, I plug in my usb key and that doesn't show up, nothing. I'm gonna post over in the hardware or tech support forums, too, but is there anything out there that can run a usb diagnostics or something? Nothing shows up in windows device manager or event viewer as having a problem. I'm running xp pro with sp2, and everything is updated as of whenever the last autoupdate prompted things. I have no idea wtf is going on.....gahhhhh! Any help?
 
bump for any other ideas! Is there any way to test or diagnose USB ports??? Without having to buy some hardware tester?
 
I had this problem the other day - came to find out I had adjusted the height of my monitor and the USB cable slid out a little and lost its connection, plugged it back in and it worked fine, maybe try that.
