I recently purchased an Antec Sonata case that came with the True Power 350W PSU. I am hooking it up to an Epox EP-8KDA3+ motherboard. The process should be simple enough but...

The larger main 20 pin power connector from the PSU is deeper than the receptacle on the motherboard so it will not lock in place. I am not sure if the PSU connector is too deep or if the motherboard socket isn't deep enough. There are no bent pins or obstruction on either connection - it just will not go in far enough to lock in place.

Has anyone heard of this???

Thanks!

I'm on my 3rd sonata. Never heard of it.

Either a board issue or a psu issue. Not sure which. I'd compare whatever you have laying around, either another board or another psu.

Wierd indeed. You sure you have it oriented correctly?

Thanks for the reply.

There are no bent pins on the MB or sockets on the connector. It is the oddest thing. I was trying to avoid taking apart another computer to compare (I have no spares) but I reckon that is what I will do when I get home. I ran out of time this morning before heading to work and figured I would post the problem here in the meantime.

Thanks again!

That was my mistake - it is a 380W.

I did some more diagnosing and it is definitely something in the motherboard connection. The PSU connector plugs in fine to another motherboard. However, if I take another PSU and try to plug it into the motherboard it won't go. Something is in there that I just am not seeing - it all looks fine. Odd.
