Help Anand with finding X2 issues!

I have already laid the groundwork for most of his research with 2 threads on this and established enough rough coprrelation to come up with some possible hypothesis of what the issue was and is and how it is related to whether you use AMD's X2 cpu drivers or not....

I think I have clearly established iti s not a hardware issue but a software issue an maybe mnore specifically the OS...It can not be hardware because ppl with identical setups and games do not have same issues...The difference is and hard to get the real answers is whether ppl have all the updated drivers, patches, fresh installs of the OS and the games, etc....

Something I am leaning more to are...

1) more ppl running WinXP home have issues with out a fresh install then those with winXP pro....this may have something to do with how the OS sees the X2. In home to take advanatge of already existing support AMD used the INtel HT flags. Perhaps there is something with the OS properly identifying those flags and setting the HAL correctly.

2) the cpu drivers work well when added but perhaps all the games need to be reinstalled after this point....

Without a doubt this is a software issue. I have not seen any reports of superpi another single threaded app acting funny, or any other non gaming app period...iof you know any please let me know...However it has to be considered odd the issues are only in gaming!!!! Hmmmm!! Seems like commonsense to me...If it was a hardware issue several apps wopuld be plagued with issues.....

I replied there. He should read our threads before asking, there is already a LOT of informatiuon in the two threads.

Now with a good third thread collecting info as well.....

Too many ppl have done the X2 driver install and had all issues cured or already had none to be a widepsread hardware bug. The rest are either doing something wrong or have other variables we have yet to identify properly...

I wasn't implying you guys should restate it all, I just thought you could help him look and quickly discern the quality information 🙂

I wonder how much he actually hangs around the boards if this seems like news to him after 2 weeks of these threads!!! maybe he isn't the right guy to even be doing it....

Maybe... he is putting his rig together fresh, and it doesn't look like he should be running into any of the aforementioned issues...
