Help: AMD Duron question

I'm getting a Duron for my brother's system, what I was wondering is if all Durons from 1.0Ghz and up are Morgan ones or not. And if there is a real difference in performance between Morgan ones and older ones. Also which one is more overclockable?. Thanks a lot.

As far as I know all 1Ghz and up Durons are Morgan cores... Also as always some OC nice others... 😛 Alot depends on the board as well... My A7V133 and a 1.1Ghz Duron dont get along very well...? (little OC on this board) But on my KK266 (1.2 version) it rocks... It will run up to 1300mhz just by the fsb increase... (BTW its locked... 🙁 )

As for games and bench marks it seems to be better than any of my previous Durons (had 2 that OC`d to 1-1.1Ghz and the Morgan performs better)

Guess you're trying to keep things cheap with the Duron. I've got a Shuttle AK31A (only ~$70 at Newegg or ~$55 refurb) and my Duron 1gig overclocks to 1.2gig with voltage set at 1.85V (default is 1.75), and 1.25 gig after a hardware mod to raise vcore to 1.9V. I believe I got over 1.1gig without even increasing the vcore, but I forget. All in all, not bad for a cheap mobo and CPU.

I'd go with the 1.1 Duron, the T-Bird has a bigger cache but the Duron is default clocked considerably higher and has hardware data prefetch, SSE, and improved power/heat features which will make it a better value.
