Help: Advise on obtaining cheap and legitimate windows 7 key

I have a bunch of machines laying around that I'd like to get windows 7 installed. Got them with no hard drives. Looking for the cheapest and legitimate option to obtain keys. I do have a valid college email if any discounts apply. Anyone have any luck or advise? thanks

Thanks for your help in advance.

PS. sketched out buying from ebay sellers due to legitimacy issue

A valid college email should get you free copies through Dreamspark, assuming you're still attending.

I do have Dreamspark, however not the premium edition that needs approval from college which contains all the licenses. Not attending anymore. Thanks

As Mushkins pointed out, it is going to be almost impossible to get a legitimate copy of Windows under the standard Microsoft price. There will be plenty out there trying to sell you a copy for cheap, but these are either fake, or OEM copies tied to a code that only apply to certain manufacturers, if they are not already tied to a particular machine.

There are, however, some pretty nice gui versions of Linux available, which will do basic tasks quite easily for someone coming over from MS. That may be your best shot here.

If you don't need to play games, Linux Mint or Kubuntu will give you a Windows-ish look and launch Firefox or Chromium just fine, which is all most users need from their computer these days.

I've gotten legit keys on the hardforum for both 7 and 8. Win 7 and 8 keys were running about $50 for the professional version of the software.

Great I'll look into all options again, thanks for your time guys. If anything pops into your line of sight, please do share 😀

I am trying to dig up my old full version of Vista which hasn't been installed in literally years. I'll install it on a used computer I am resurrecting and hopefully get Windows 10.

If you mean getting Win 10, the free upgrade is only for 7 and newer

I have brought this multiple times for customer builds with 100% success but YMMV. Sorry for the link, doing this from my phone.
