help - accidentally rebooted

I accidentally kicked the power cord in the middle of downloading some files. After win2k restarted, it ran scandisk, but after I booted into windows, all the files in the folder I was downloading into looked strange. They had strange ascii looking symbols that I couldnt delete, deltree didnt work either. Its taking up a lot of disk space, cant seem to find a way to get rid of those files. Let me know if anyone has an idea on how to solve this. Thanks.

edit: nm, I fixed it. I booted into win98 command prompt and ran scandisk.
