help - access denied by encryption

alright, i've got the biggest dilemma of my computer life so far.

My PC has 2 OSes: Windows 2000 on one harddrive, Windows XP on the second harddrive. Both use NTFS so I can see Windows XP files when using Win2k and vice versa.

However, when I installed Windows XP I chose to have my files encrypted so that no other user can access them. Now my Windows XP won't work - I can't even log in. When I select to use Windows XP, the splash screen comes up with the horizontal bar at the bottom but after that the screen goes blank. Now I can't access any of my personal files on the Windows XP drive even though I can see them using my Windows 2000.

What can I do??
Any help is appreciated!!

See if you can unencrypt them in Windows 2000. After that, export your private keys from both OS and cross certify each other to ensure that you can access files from both OSes.

thanx andy,

i used the default encryption that windows uses to do it and i'm not sure how to go about it. but i'm sure there's a way. i'll see what i can find on the net about trying to unencrypt it.

thanx again
