Help! A8N-E POST but no video after BIOS update

I'm just putting together my new system. It's an Asus A8N-E, Venice 3200. I don't have a PCI Express video card yet, so I'm running (don't laugh) a Matrox Millenium II PCI. It was working fine with the 1001 BIOS out of the box. After flashing to 1005 I get one POST beep which is good but no video. The keyboard responds too because Caps Lock LED changes when I press it.
The BIOS was set to init PCI display first, but it's back to default after I cleared the CMOS. I also tried moving the card to another PCI slot and tried an even older Trident PCI card. I guess I'll have to buy or borrow a PCI-E card to boot it up, and hopefully it'll work. Any other ideas?

Never mind. I cleared the CMOS again, and it booted up with video. I was getting worried for a while.
