Help a Wii N00b

I'm new to this Wii thing and read the instruction manual, but didn't see anything that helped...

Basically, two of my Wiimotes stopped working correctly. No trauma, or throwing of wiimotes; and it looks like the battery bar is full for them. Basically, you can point the wiimote at the screen and it works fine (for menu selections and for Wiiplay games like duck hunt). But it doesn't recognize any change in Wii 'orientation.' It doesn't pick up the swing motion of bowling or tennis. I tried re-running the calibration to no avail. (the calibration works, and I can successfully calibrate the remotes as Remotes 1 thru 3 according to the blue buttons at the bottom the the wiimote.) I don't think it's a distance/sensor bar problem since I stand in the same spot and 1 works while the other two don't.

BTW, all wiimotes worked as of 3 days ago. Which leads me to believe batteries, but they are registering as full batteries in the Wii menu. I tried new batteries, but that did not immediately solve the problem, but I didn't bother going through the calibration stuff with them.

Any suggestions?

When you say "calibrate," I think you're talking about syncing the remote with the Wii, and that's not your problem if the pointer functionality works. I think your Wii Remotes broke (the gyroscope/accelerometer specifically). Send them back to Nintendo.

Try smacking them really hard against your palm (one at a time). I've heard the accelerometers can get stuck...odd to have 2 at the same time though.

I double checked the Wiimotes and it appears that it is just one that is not working. (I must've picked up the same one twice in a row yesterday when first investigating it). I'll go smack it around some. It can't hurt anything.

Awesome, a good back hand to the side of the wiimote solved it.

And the tv is fine...thankfully, we haven't had any flying wiimotes yet.......

Once again, my rule that anything can fixed by a proper application of force is proven true.

my brother believes in the same rule. once i found him PUNCHING (yes really PUNCHING) my computer cuz it wouldn't boot. (the ram is not set well and moving it creates problem).

imagine my reaction.
