Help! a strange and serious problem.

I have a very strange problem whenever i install my A4Tech. mouse driver,Asus AGP-V7100 driver ver. 6.18 a problem appears in outlook express 5 and some other programes.Firstly Outlook Express opens very slowly in about four minutes secondly there is a pause of about 15 to 20 seconds in Internet Explorer thirdlysome programe do not run for example a game Evolution 4x4 and also if this problem occurs before installing Office 2000 then Office 2000 also do not work there is also a error in Pstores.exe file.Please help me to resolve this problem.I have Intel D815EEA mother board Pentium III 733, 128 PC 133 Ram, Quantum FireBall Plus LM 21.0 GB,Creative Live Platinum Sound Card, Asus AGP-V7100/T VGA card and Windows Mellinium Edition(Win_Me).

I checked my system properties and found follwing IRQ's share by some devices.Is problem lies there Please guide me.
IRQ-9 SCI IRQ used ACPI bus.
IRQ-9 Intel(R)82801 BA/BAM USB Universal Host Controller 2.
IRQ-10 Creative SB Live!
IRQ-10 Intel(R)82801 BA/BAM SMBus Controller-2443
IRQ-11 ASUS AGP-V7100 SDRAM VER. 5.33a.
IRQ-11 Intel(R)82801 BA/BAM USB Universal Host Controller 1.
IRQ-14 Intel(R)82801 BA Ultra ATA Storage Controller.
IRQ-14 Primary Ultra ATA Controller.

hm... i presume that you removed your old mouse driver? if you hit the Windows key + Pause/Break buttons, you should get the system properties (otherwise go to control panel -> System) and see if there are any hardware conflicts.

perhaps; i can never be certain with long-distance tech support

if it is indeed irq sharing problems, u might have to wrestle a bit to get them to work; u somehow need to get the usb/smb drivers off those irqs whether it be altering irq steering or making changes in the CMOS

u can disable serial/parrallel ports to free irqs and temporarily disable usb/smb to see if the problem still persists...

I tried to change IRQ but IRQ could not change IRQ evenafter disabling COM1,COM2 & LPT.A meesage appeared "This resource setting can not be modified".Please guide me ho to change IRQ in Windows Me and also about working with IRQ Streering.I will be thankful to you for this help.

uh, win doesn't let u change the irqs directly

go to device manager >> system devices >> pci bus >> irq steering to change the algorithm that win uses for assigning irqs

however, if the motherboard forces those pci slots to share, win has no control over that

u might also want to make sure that the drivers are winme compatible
