Help a rook out with DVD backups

I would like to backup some data from my HD to a DVD disc (a data disc format). The catch is that I would like to make it so I can read the disc in my Liteon DVD Drive (reads only) or any other PC DVD read only drives. I have Nero 6 Ultra now. I'd like to do this with Nero or a freebie program. Is this possible, or an I dreaming?

If I understood that correctly then yes, all you have to do is burn it as a data disc and the player will be able to read it.

Well, I've tried that but the Liteon doesn't like it. However, if I stick it in the Plextor (burner), it comes right up no problem. That's why I was wondering if there's a specific format that the DVD needs to be burned in to operate in a DVD-ROM drive.

Yeah burn it as Data I had troubles with these discs with my other read only Samsoung drive, I fixed it by checking a box in Nero I think it said Finalize burning or close disc or something like that and then the DVD would read fine in my other drive.
