I just got a Shuttle ak35 gtr mobo (has raid on board) (beyond that dont ask me which version, it hasn't arrived yet). I also have a duron 1.8ghz and an xp 2000+. i'm interested in overclocking but not sure of the steps i'd have to take for each processor and which I'd see better results on.

anyone care to give me some advice???

thanks!
ben

ps: I'm running these off a 400watt antec ps

your xp200+ will probably oc better. if you dont know anything about oc'ing, then google it n00b! otherwise read other forums to get the idea of what to do.

That was awfully rude, newbie. And no, the XP2000 won't definitely OC better, but it's still what I would use because it's going to give you more performance at the same clock speed. Here's an OCing guide specifically for newbies like you two: link.

That XP 200+ might OC to about the level of an XP 240+ or so

.

Honestly though, try both and see which is faster for your uses. Overclocking is a total crapshoot.

I don't see how that was rude, he called himself a nub in the title of the thread. Take a chill pill myo and cut back on that morning coffee a wee bit k 😉

Derailur, don't be mad because I got your drunk (according to you), obnoxious friend banned. He deserved to be banned long before he finally was. BTW, haven't you figured out that when you quote someone, that's the person you're addressing, not the person who posted the original thread?
