I'm looking at building at liquid cooling for the first time, with a (simple) CPU cooling loop. I may add a GPU block later if needed, but currently I have a GTX 970 that I'm likely to swap out for a 1080 or 1070 at some point in a month or two.

I've always done air in the past because it's been more economical and sufficient with less maintenance, but now I want liquid cooling for my own new build since I want to overclock the CPU to the max without being thermally constrained (though I probably wouldn't be thermally constrained even on a lesser air setup) and also because it just looks pretty :p. I just want to make sure I'm not misreading/missing anything as far as diameters especially, and I want to make sure that everything is compatible.

Other possibly relevant parts in the build (already ordered/arriving):
CPU: Intel Core i7-6700k
Mobo: MSI Z170-A PRO
Case: In Win 303

Other recent indications I've seen on the forum don't suggest as much of a thermal limitation to OC'ing a 6700K as either a voltage limitation or the motherboard's potential. Again, I could be wrong about this, but that's what I thought I'd read in recent weeks or months.

I also have leaned toward air-cooling, since heatpipes have an MTBF of a million years. But I'm planning to build a 6700K system with the Corsair H115i AiO cooler. That eliminates a need for me to pick components, but I'd always had such a project in mind. I've posted or contributed to threads here inquiring about exotic radiators and other items.

Hopefully, AigoMorla will step in here and advise you about your choices. It makes more sense for you to go with custom water in my opinion, just for your choice of a top-end graphics card.

If it weren't for that factor, I might have suggested that you just get yourself a good AiO cooler.

chug out that premix... its garbage and your not mixing any exotic metals or alu / copper to warrent it.

your best off going to a grocery store and getting some distilled water.

If your after the color then you may want to get a concentrate.
But premix's are the biggest scam a watercooling company does to make instant profit, and its viewed by most of us as a sad excuse to sell water to the unknowing.
