First I want to say this is a really odd request, but when the chips are down, and you don't have any options I guess you just have to try anything.

I was told today by the company manager that the owner is selling the company, and that they'd have to let me go.

I thought this is great, just before Thanksgiving, and Christmas. The truth is if they don't keep me around till the holidays there won't be much of any holidays this year for me and my family.

I'm the Internet Sales Manager for ImageStationArt.

http://www.imagestationart.com/

Between both myself and my wife working with 3 kids we are still just getting by, loosing this job is just going to pay the bills, and keep the food going, and that's all. So I figure if I can at least try and get people to buy some art I might be able to talk them into keeping me till after Christmas.

We have really cheap prices as low as $16, so if it's in your heart to help a guy I'd really appreciate it.

This isn't New York where I'm going to find a job in a few days, or weeks to match this job at all.

I'm hoping possibly you have a love of art, or your friends, and family, maybe you can buy something for yourself, or a present for someone for the holidays.

This isn't a flame, this is really a bad situation, so I'd appreciate it if no one would start flaming this, I'm really down at the moment, because work here is not easy at all to get.

Just imagine living some place where the cost of an average house was $500.000-$700.000? And that's no joke.

Have a look here to see what your money gets you, not much, $500.000 gets you a shack on this island.

http://www.mauirealestate.net/kihei_homes.html

Oh and if you think you can afford the mortgage, then the cost for gas, and food costs will kill you especially for a family of five that I have.

I think me and my family might need to move back to the mainland, because this place is so expensive.

Please don't flame this, this isn't a joke it's a pretty sad day in my life today, and I thank you for your consideration to help if you can, or at least consider a nice gift for a loved one.

This isn't a hand out, it's just to buy a little something to help give me some leverage to try and get them to let me stay on till Christmas, so any small amount you can afford for some nice art would be greatly appreciated. PLEASE look at the site. Also selling my computers and stuff isn't going to help me keep my job till December, that's not the point.

Man that stinks, my grandparents have a place in Kihei so I know just how expensive it is.

I'd help you if I could. Good luck.

Well I need the WorkRig for some work I'll try to get online, and if it gets that bad I'll try to sell them both.

I don't want people to look at this as a handout, they're going to buy something hopefully they like or can use, so either way it will be a help for both sides, something they can use, and hopefully enough leverage to keep my job.

OH and selling my rigs isn't going to help me keep my job till Christmas, that isn't the POINT of this, the point is for my company to see some business, to consider possibly keeping me around longer.

THANKS

Wow... all the art is sooo beautiful, it makes me cry to see it. I miss it there. :(
I wish i had some money (ok, more than some... )

Good luck on selling things. you might wanna try some hawai'i message boards that lovers of the islands as well as locals frequent as well.

Is your store in the building with the purple neon lights?

I'll look around, but I'm not the kind of guy to blow a lot of money on artwork. :(

We have art as inexpensive as -------> $16 ;)

No neon lights here, but if you know Kihei, we are located off the Piilani behind the Tesoro, where the warehouses are at.

Wow what a small world, like 1/2 mile from me. You'll have to look me up if you come to visit.

Tell them to stop in before I get the boot, LOL, it's called ----> Maui Giclee, behind the Tesoro gas station in where the warehouses are out, I'm sure they know the place.

Tell them I said HI & ALOHA

THANKS

hey there Das,

Man, thats a tough line to be handed. And the timing is indeed impecable :disgust: . I'll discuss the fundage with my wife; we have a couple Hawaiian pieces hanging at the house here, perhaps one of those pieces would complement them :) .

I wish the best for you and your family man. I'll be in touch here at anandtech.

I'm at school right now. If you still have the job in two weeks I'll buy something, promise. Some of those would make great presents.

For sure, I'll tell them about it. I don't think I'll make it down there this year, I was down there last Christmas, but this year my grandparents are taking the family to mexico.

Good luck with all of your stuff man!

No, you don't get it, sheesh man you have to flame like this?

This isn't about just making money, BUT making arts sales for the company so people will think sales are picking up for the holidays, and they might consider keeping around till then.

THANKS A LOT FOR YOUR COMMENTS REALLY NICE WAIT ONE DAY WHEN YOU FALL!

I'll browse the site and see if there's something I like.

Best of luck to you and your family, Das. Keep your spirits up. :)
