Help a dummy play Blu Ray on a PC

I have Radeon HD5670 connected to a new Asus HDMI compatible monitor, with a Samsung 12x BD player. software is powerDVD 9 that came with the Samsung. I haven't installed the Samsung yet as I just got it today.

Question is this. Do I need to use the HDMI cable from the vid card to the monitor to play the blu ray?

I'm currently connected with the DVI cable. I'd like to get the best possible picture.

I only have Bose Companion II stereo speakers so I'm not sweating any big surround issues.

thanks in advance for any tips/replies

DVI is fine -- it is HDCP compatible as well.

For the best experience, sell the Bose and buy something good. (Not actually kidding there.)
