...x800xl... agp... or... pci-e motherboard?..... the pci-e one is a lot cheaper than the agp.... so if you have pci-e...... go with the x800xl... otherwise... 6800gt....

The GT is the best of the 3, then the XL. I'd pay a 10% premium for the GT or so, no more.

I'd get the 6800gt because it has shader model 3.0...and with next gen games coming soon, you'll want that.

SM 3 is overrated. By the time SM 3 is widely used, you would need a higher performing card anyways.

Then again, you are talking about AGP so go for 6800GT. If PCI-E, I would say 800XL

AGP? If you have a fast CPU, I'd suggest a ~$300 6800GT.

But nVidia is announcing its newest video cards on June 21st. If you can wait two weeks, do so. The new cards might be worth the wait, tho no guarantees that you'll be able to buy something for $300 that'll outperform the 6800GT.

thanks for all the input guys.....does agp and pci-e make any differnce in the cards any way?..........cuz the cards all have the same specs as their counterparts....doesnt that mean they should perform the same for now?..

Yeah, current 8x AGP only transfers at like 4.2x or something, PCI-E is 16x AGP speed, and still doesn't move faster than prior said AGP speed.

IIRC it goes something like this:

X800XT > 6800GT = X800XL > X800Pro.

The XT is better than the GT or XL, which are about the same (although the GT costs more than the XL), which are all better than the Pro, since it only has 12 pipelines. Unlocking them is easy, however there's a chance you can't unlock them.

Agreed. IMO, ATI's colors seem more vibrant.

If you are playing BF2 and CS:S (which ATI's run much better on HL2 engine), then get the X800XL.
