Ignore what I here it was on 4.4ghz..

Specs:
Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H
i7-3770k + Nucota NH-U12P SE2
nzxt wisper
750w seasonic

Before I even started to OC'ing I checked the cpu with IBT on very high and threads on All. Here what HWinfo64 showing after just few minutes :

Isn't this crazy hot for stock speed? By the way which temp should I look at there are so many?

You should reseat the CPU cooler and change the thermal paste. 88c is high.

How hot is the room your are testing the PC in?

68c is fine for an air cooler at full load. Could maybe get it a little lower, but it's fine.

Happens to the best of us! My 3770k below at 4.4 Ghz runs at 72C Max on IBT but I have an excellent water cooler.

With the premium Noctua cpu cooler you list, the at stock temps should be lower. Are your fans running at spec when the cpu is maxed out? Was the thermal paste properly applied?

If hes getting 83c with a overclock then thats normal temps. Since your NOT OCing, something is terribly wrong. Reseat HSF clean thermal, install again. Make sure its tight all 4 corners. gl

look down in data of HWinfo64 there should be CPU fan and chassis fan rpm info if the fans are connected to MB .
Note that HS uses 3wire fans and I am pretty sure comes with speed reducers too (2 of them ).
I don't know on a P8Z68 but on Asus P8Z77 if you plug 3wire fans to fan header you can't control them rpm wise like 4 wire PWM fans .

here fan you have

If no data is listed maybe try HWmonitor or open case and look were the fans are plugged in .
If in MB you could look into bios or try fan expert or other fan app .

I have a feeling your board autooverclock the turbo to always 4 bins. That also increase the voltage.
What do you mean? what 4 bins?

Correction to my previous message - I set the cpu fan speed control to 2.50 pwm value / c whatever that mean.
4.3ghz was 80c and 4.4 was 90c.

My graphic card is very hot an old hd4870. I'm a bit confused about the temp in the rows so I attached it here. Could be that it warms up the CPU because they are close?
(Max temp is the far left one)

In the BIOS. check there more accurate.

you have a Asus MB, they have an option "Asus multi-core enhancement" or something similar.

If it is enabled it will load all cores to max turbo core used .

example , normally you would see if 1 or 2 cores are maxed =3.9ghz , if 3 cores are maxed =3.8ghz and if all cores than turbo is only 3.8ghz .

Now if Asus multi-core is on in bios you get 3.9ghz no matter how many cores are being used . It is a factory/built in OC even though the speed doesn't go above 3.9 .

Gigabyte no asus

Plus I just noticed they put a 1.0 version of the mobo not the 1.1 as I ordered
the 1.1 got 8-pin power not 4-pin as the 1.0 and maybe other things too... should I bother to go there and let them change it?

There still is a multicore option in the Gigabyte bios.

I thought all Z77 were 8 pin plug for 12v .

Sorry about that i was reading another posters specs but as above said Gigabyte has same option , many MB do .
Your right version 1.0 is just 4wire . not sure how much that limits anything, would assume it would on high OC but that is guess .

Here link about multi-core enhancement .

When I bought he said its the last one so if I went there the next model will be Gigabyte GA-Z77z-D3H which cost 25$ more.
I just want a 4.3 oc so is it really matter?

your problem now is temp 80c at 3.9 is on high side , I have 3570k and with 212 evo it goes to 60-62c in prime95 max core temp .

I do have fan run up to like 85-90% at max temps .

How high are the fans running at max temp ? I would think you need 1100-1200 to get most out of it under load .
Also what is your Vcore at 3.9
