Help!!! 17" LCD for around $200

I'd appreciate anyone who could give some adivce on a good LCD at a cost of around $200. Can be either D-Sub or DVI, but preferably DVI.

-Thanks

In the sense of the $200 budget, I've been studying this for a while. The only thing I wanted to mention is that you could look for 19" (instead of 17") in that range. I'm still jealous of my father-in-law who nabbed a 930B for $219 after rebate.

Be sure to check out TomsHardware.com before buying any monitor. There is no industry standard for reporting the details which matter the most. So a manufacturer can claim to be a 600:1 and latency of 9 ms, when in fact, TomsHardware will show at best 400:1 and a latency of 3 times that!

I'd say this:

BenQ FP71G+

Or you could plop down the $35 more to get the Samsung 740B which is great and has DVI. Personally, when looking under $200, I'd focus more on getting a decent brand than getting DVI at this size. There won't be much if any quality difference between the two. Analog might take a little more adjustment, but after that, not too much to worry about.

You could try this. Likely same panel as the BenQ. Acer AL1716BBD (DVI+D-Sub). You still may want to somehow fit the Samsung 740B (DVI+D-Sub) in your budget (by spending some more, or buying from a cheap retailer).
