i am a boy. not a possesion.

so ive been single forrrrrrrrrrr almost 4 months now. ive had dates and random flings but nothing serious, mostly working with my right hand, as i haven't really met anyone worth my time.

i met sarah through friends at a LAN party and we started to get to know each other on aim, talking almost every single morning when i got off the CS server and she finished one of her movies.
she seems perfect.

well i like to go out on the weekends and sarah being a bit older than me (17, im 16) tells me shes already gone through her gaming and computers and whatever phase so she never wants to play with me. fine by me, she can sit at home or go to the supermarket with her friends when i go out, i mean theres no law that says i cant go out without her. OR IS THERE?
she gets sooooooo upset when i go out with my friends cuz she knows i'm going to play and stay up all night and in her words "LANs are for single people". WHAT? DOES THIS MAKE SENSE TO YOU? i mean, she got upset last weekend when i went to a lan party with a few of my friends A LAN PARTY.

now shes tellin me that some of my friends are bad influences cuz they play DoD and counterstrike or they like the internet or they are losers (this one really upsets me) and she doesnt want me to go out with them as much and i should really start being friends with her friends. she tells me im too smart to be hanging out with my friends and i should be around people that challenge me intellectually.

so she wants me to be around more mature people BUT wants me to be like her little play toy that she can control and take care of?

so, sadly, sarah and her controlling ways has got to go. my friends mean so much to me and ive told her time and time again im not changing for anyone but myself.

maybe im just selfish, but, im young and there are lots of "perfect" girls out there.

she seems like she is being a little petty. All relationships are about compromising, but not to the extent that you are changing who you are for the other person, that is just going too far. Try to talk it out with her a little more, tell her exactly how you feel (if you are interested in staying together) If she still insists you change, tell her ciao and go play some CS (but you really need to find a newer game to play, like RTCW or GO )

but i have been open and honest with her right from the start about all these things, i dont understand why she would pursue me then try to change me once we were more serious.
