Wed landed this morning in preperation for a cruise tomorrow. It's quite amusing to see all you wimps walking around in winter coats and scarfs when it's 60F out! :p.

We hit the USS Midway today. I have to say that it was one of the cooler museums/historical sites I have been to.

EDIT: Just found Internet in Mazatlan. Since you should not say things that are not nice about others I have nothing to say about Mexico. :p

At least the weather is great and the alcohol is flowing! :D

We did the cabo cruise over the summer out of that same dock. Cabo was Meh. We basically just walked around the marina for a few hours, went back to the boat, and drank and passed out by the pool. Have fun though.

You should be happy you got out! Did you see the weather in SF? They recorded 152MPH winds in Norcal today.

BTW, the homeless situation in San Diego is completly out of hand. I saw more today than I have in all my times in Detroit.

I've heard that it's even worse in San Francisco, as it's basically a sanctuary city for the homeless. I've seen quite a few homeless around Santa Barbara as well.

its true, san fran has got a serious problem. i was there a few months ago and i can attest to that fact. in fact i think i even saw them have cardboard mansions and everything. and boy are they persistent. here in san diego they pretty much keep to themselves save for the ones that hold up signs at the lights near the malls but in san fran they have no shame in following you for half a block trying to talk to you and squeeze out a buck.

damn you! but it is true... you dont even want to imagine how we get when it starts raining or heck, even drizzling. we still think its no big deal and we can still tear up the roads at 80-85+ mph. the traffic report screen on the morning news has so many blinking lights that it looks like a damn x-mas tree.

We took my mom on a little eco-tour out to the mangrove swamps and Isla de la Piedra.
It was quite fun. They ran up the channels with the mangroves close by, docked and we rode in a roofed trailer pulled by a farm tractor out to this totally deserted white sand beach. There was some nice shade, bathrooms, and my 83 year old mom decided to take a horseback ride on the beach!
This beach was like in a movie, totally deserted and clean, stretching out for what seemed like miles to either side.

It might be more interesting if you read about their ancient culture and spend some time south in places such as Oaxaca, Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatan, and Quintana Roo. Instead of spend times in Americanize tourist traps such as the Baja, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco, Veracruz, and Cancun. Or, dumps such as Mexico City, Ciudad Juarez & Tijuana.

Some of my preferred places in Mexico for friendliness, culture, and culinary are Cozumel/Chetumal, Merida & surrounding area, and Villahermosa.

[add]
I also like Oaxaca.

Yeah, Mexico is pretty much a shit hole. I haven't been that far down the coast yet though...Ensenada is as far south as I've ventured.

I can't imagine wanting to have anything to do with the internet when I am on vacation.

I also like Oaxaca.

I have been to Chetumal and it was ok, magnitudes better than the west coast, IMHO. My beef is with the people here. They are aggressive to the point of following you as you walk down the street. Leave me the hell alone! At least in the Caribbean they'll ask if you want your hair braided and then just keep on going.

I can't imagine wanting to have anything to do with the internet when I am on vacation.

I was posting while outside next to the pool. Now I am on my verandah. :p

Being pester by local is a common thing for tourist therefore you just have to learn to be ignore them or be some what cruel.

I have had similar experience, and even physically attacked for not giving beggars money in Vietnam.

[add] Oops! Go and have some fun.
