just wanted to write from yerushalayim and say shabbat shalom, its 330 here and the city is starting to shut down for the holiday and i managed to find some internet access, so i figured i'd write and let you know how amazing everything is over here. i have had maybe 20 hours of sleep since last fri nite but it has been so worth it, we have seen so much and shared so much as a bus and a general group, i know that you all who have been here can understand just what i mean. i can't say enough about all that we have done, other than that absolutely amazing, incredible, wow, i don't think anything better describes it. i can't wait to show pictures to everyone. we have been all over this country in the past week and some, it seems like so much longer than a week ago that i boarded a plane to come over here, but it really was only a week. we started in dead sea area and spent our first shabbat there, doing saturday services outside only 50 yards away from some incredible mountains rising up directly behind the ark. we spent that after noon hiking, and our group did an extra long hike that i would never have done w/out, our group bonded so well on it, having to help everyone over terrain that most people have never even dreamed about, and reaching the summit of our mountain just in time to watch the sunset. the next day was masada, and after the hike we did on sat, it was a piece of cake
we then traveled north to kesaria and then to our kibbutz underneath the galilee. the next day was ....something, and then new years - or maybe that was new years that day, i don't remember at the moment, but i know that new years day was spent in the golan, jeep ride tours and then back to the kibbutz for another nite, this was the nite of the bombing that i'm sure everyone heard about, and so our plans for the next day were a lil bit changed. well that's a bit of an update, i'm sure i'll give u more than you could ever want to hear when i get home, but for now, i must go get in some nicer shabbat clothes. i will see u all soon!
