Hehe, it makes my head explode too. linuxboy and a few others may understand what is being said but I have no idea although it sounds like fun.

To me it sounds like going out the front and around the world to get to my back door. Sheesh!

M: But as to who is aware and how awareness is obtained, that is a different issue. Despite the evidence that I think exists to the contrary, I think most folk think they are aware. This assumption is a killer because nobody looks for what they think they already know.
-----------
DC: I don't want to go social constructionist...

M: What is social constructionist and why don't you want to go there? What do you mean?

DC: but have you considered that for the individual that thinks he or she is aware that awareness encapsulates the entirety of his or her reality? Edit: If by reality you mean what one sees as ones reality. Reality is one of those words that can mean lots of things. For example, the human senses can only know a limited amount of things. For example, we sample a limited amount of the electromagnetic spectrum.

M: I would say that is not only obvious but can't be any other way so I am not sure why you ask?

DC: I suppose that the a level of awareness, that an awareness of a single reality is ignorance, requires an integration of conclusions that are outside of pure positivist empiricism.

M: What does this mean? Are you saying, for example, that if I wanted to say that your own awareness is ignorance I would have to base it on conclusions exclusive of the kind you describe as pure positivist empiricism whatever the hell those are? I have no idea what you are talking about but I would say your awareness isn't complete awareness if you don't know what you feel, if you have feelings that unconsciously motivate the direction of your thinking. I would even say that thinking itself is a lack of awareness, a cat chasing its tail a way of staying away from the real feelings.

I would add also that as far as I can tell the world we have created since the industrial revolution is just an acceleration toward our own extinction, which is what we intend, and that all this theoretical or philosophical thinking you have brought up here is just the product of some folk stirring with nightmares in their sleep. The only way that I see consciousness evolving is with need. So what we are doing is destroying ourselves in an attempt to wake up. The closer we get to finishing ourselves off the more folk will attempt to wake up.

We have only one oppressor and it is our self. There is no where to go, nothing we need to think, do, or achieve. We have always been perfect. But because we were made under tremendous pain to believe we are worthless, we simply will not awaken. The first place you wake up in is hell. To rise from the ashes you first have to burn.
