hello and welcome. I do think you are wasting time here. These people will buy the latest video card with halon cooling before they buy good speakers.

I wouldnt say that, I spent over $3000 on the front 3 speakers, and about to spend another $2k on a diy sub and amp.

Fox, Do you EVER post anything that isn't criticizing someone or something?

Welcome to the forums, Brian.

I've been speaker shopping and never paid much attention to your brand. But now that you've posted this message I've actually read some at avs and hit up the site.

Who or what did I criticise? The who the hell counts furniture comment? You got to be crazy to take that seriously. As to me thinking Brian is wasting his time here, it's an observation given the chatter in this subforum.

My opinion is this, if you love sound and your passionate about it, who is someone to restrict available information. The majority of what I do within the Hearing Health Services incorporates a bunch of various technologies as well. As a Hearing Specialist and working with hearing-impaired patients, technology presented within this fine forum is what I use each and every day. Video-otoscopy, and the majority of Audiologic software, just to name a few...

Hearing Specialist, eh? Hmmm...doesn't have to do with Ascend (nice stuff, BTW), but do you have any suggestions on whether or not I should look into reshelling a pair of Shure SE535? If so, what company should I go through?

All of my work is travel-based so I'm fluctuating between buying something nicer or reshelling the Shures.

I typically like to fit any of the Westone labs customs. Westone makes some amazing monitors with excellent drivers and crossovers, they also are the finest ear-mold lab in the US. Re-shelling could also be done by a local hearing aid company close to where you live that makes their own devices. That route will be the least expensive but in no comparison to allowing Westone to make you some fine units. Heres the link friend:
