Hello everyone, first post!

Hello,

Been lurking for a while and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on which of these 3 speakers would be a better center channel for the following circumstances. I know they may not be the "ideal" speakers but they fit within the criteria.

Priced around $250 or less.
Size has to be 7 1/4" tall or less and 10" deep or less.
Fill a room with 16 foot high ceilings, and otherwise fairly large space
Onkyo Tx-nr509 receiver

Paradigm cinema 200 center channel $220
Polk CS10 center channel $120
Yamaha NS-C310BL. $200

Price aside, (within the $250 ceiling) I would really just rather have the better sounding speaker. The large living room with 16 foot ceilings combined with the fact that I am currently only using an older focal sib satellite speaker as a center, seems to make the voices not nearly as clear as they should be, among other annoyances and to regurgitate an old quote, it makes me "mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more!!" 😀

Quite frankly I'm not opposed to the idea of upgrading the receiver if anyone has any suggestions, but my main focus right now is the center.

Any help or advice you can give me is greatly appreciate!!

Thank you!
Cliff

what fronts are you currently using?
the fronts should be timbre matched

the cs10 is a LARGE center channel 🙁
also polks aren't known for being crystal clear, on my cs20 edit: cs2 voices are still easily understandable though

of those choices, I would guess the paradigm cinema 200 might be the best for voice clarity

Thank you for the help fralexandr!

All of the speakers are the Focal Sib's currently and they have been discontinued and the only local place to get them closed. I don't know how easy it would be to match the timbre, not being able to compare side by side. I suppose eventually I will upgrade all of the speakers so I'm not sure how worried I need to be about that anyway. I guess for now I would rather have the better sounding speaker and upgrade the others eventually to match. Of all the speakers mentioned, Paradigm seems to be the one I can find the lease information about onlin. I can't find any user reviews. Can anyone tell me anything about them or have any experience with them? Would an entire set of them be a fairly impressive entry level sound or are there others I should look at?

Thank you again for the help!

All the best,
Cliff

i don't have any personal experience with paradigm, but audioholics has an infomercialish product description
http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/speakers/bookshelf/paradigm-cinema-speakers-pre

and they actually own paradigm.com which says a bit about them i suppose
http://www.paradigm.com/about-paradigm/about-paradigm-electronics

here are some more speakers to look at

i guess the center is too tall for you though

Did you email Focal and ask them what should be the matching centre from their current lineup?
