I didn't see any sections for introductions, so I'll just throw this here. I'll probably be around quite a bit, so I thought I might introduce myself.
My name is Scott and I'm a technology junkie. I love computers, cars, bicycles, anything with screws and I love to fix random things. In fact, that's my job. I'm an aircraft avionics tech for the Air Force. I'm also a Computer Networks Security major.
I love forums, and it's nice being back on a computer tech forum. I was an active moderator on www.motherboards.org back in 2005-2008 time frame, I've been very active across several car forums, though I haven't done much in regards to that for the last year. All in all I think I have more than 20k posts out there somewhere, but it's not about quantity.
I've been out of the PC tech game for a while and started coming to Anandtech (an old favorite of mine) the last few months as a preferred place to research items for a new build since I had no idea what the current lay of land was. Thanks to the AT staff and all of the forum posts I've ghosted, I feel quite caught up.
I recently sold my 2009 STI for various reasons, but my major consolation prize was getting to replace my computer I built in 2008 with a new one. The wife said to go all out since I gave up something I was very attached to. While I didn't just look for the most expensive parts, I did put a little extra care and expense into making it just how I wanted it.
Anyway, that's a little background about why I'm here. See you on the forum!
