Hello guys, I just upgraded my system its listed below, and i had a few questions??

1. my processor is a 1.7 ghz p4 with only a 256k cache. will i notice a difference with a 512k cache chip??
2. Is there a program out there i can get that will tell me how my system is running, and allow me to show you guys how it is running
for advice on what to do??
3. I just have some cheap 512 2100 ddr ram. What sould i get?
4. Any advice on overclocking??


P4 1.7 Ghz
512 2100 DDR
Abit IT-7 MAX2 V2.0
antec 400w PS

system looks good,

is that a 400Mhz FSB processor? if so I think you'd notice a difference with a newer intel northwood cpu core.

as for overclocking...read, read, read

i'd recommend you get a chip with 512kb level 2 cache
you'll see a bigger boost in performance
but there is no P4 1.7 GHz with 512 kb level 2 cavhe
the 512 kb level 2 cache is represented by the A(i.e.1.6A)

The Willmette core is absolute junk, but it will probaly perform fine for you.
