lol Ok well it's not as urgent as the title may suggest, but I was wondering if anyone knows if the ATI Radeon 7000 64ddr PCI vid. card is any good?

This is for my friend, and he plans on playing Medal of Honor Allied Assault non stop with me. He currently has a voodoo2 (enough said), and he really wants to stay away from the voodoo series. Where can I find some reviews on the Radeon 7000 PCI, or if anyone else knows of a good card for around $100 that would be better than the ATI please let me know!

The Radeon 7000 -=IS NOT=- A GAMING CARD! Its has fairly poor performance (missing lots of features like hardware T/L and shaders etc etc), so if you want to get a cheap Radeon gaming card, get the Radeon 7200 or above (the Radeon LE is sweet when you hack it).

is that $100 US or otherwise?

Yes that's $100 U.S. , can you tell me where a good place to purchase a 7200 is, and what do you mean by 'hacking' the Radeon LE? Also is there a DDR Geforce card for PCI??

and let me again say that it must be PCI :)

Hacking the le is in most cases flashing the bios to regular/retail. The geforce2 mx 400 pci would be the only good consideration by nvidia. And might be the best choice overall for pci.

what about the Geforce2 GTS...

The highest i've seen in DDR is 32mb.. and preferably I'd like to do better.

I haven't seen a gts in pci flavor, what os is he running? If it is win9x, then the voodoo 5 might be the way to go.

The voodoo 5 would be the fastest but that would be a wager right now. But that debate is also going on here where they are saying either the voodoo5 or the kyro2.
