I know it received a lot of negative attention when it was released, and that's kind of unfortunate for FSS's first game, but I expect they've fixed it up a lot?

It didn't take long for the retail price to drop. I was eyeing it at CC when it was $30. I was in Target yesterday and it was only $20!

So, worth a buy at $20? My main concern is not bugs and whatnot, as I expect all of this time since release they have made changes and fixed bugs. I guess my main concern is are you really underpowered if you don't subscribe? I read that subscribers will receive ongoing content updates expected to be released every few months. Surely they aren't keeping these content updates from free players?

I like Mythos alot (done by a small FSS team), and it seems like one thing they keep saying is that free players aren't significantly less powerful than players who buy things. I wonder if that sort of came up as the FSS team doing that recognized they don't want their game to turn out like Hellgate with the free vs subscribing players.

It's still buggy as hell, at least for me.

Corpses that stay standing bother me a lot. Along with the frequent BSOD and half the time I get 10fps when an enemy dies, while the other half it runs at a solid 60fps.

Also save for Starcraft 2, to tide you over until D3 is released.

Flagship shouldn't have even bothered making a single player component and just made it a flat-out MMO. The fact that they put in a SP component and then told SP people to fuck off(IE: all the upgrades and bug fixes only for people who pay extra every month) pisses me off and makes it VERY likely I won't even look twice at their next game.
