www.ausgamers.com has released info of a chat log with valve, and they have said ALL AA problems have been solved with ALL cards 😀😀😀😀 great news, maybe people will start buying more nvidia's now that they see the problem has been fixed 😀

I don't think fixing AA will sell more nVidia cards. I think coming up with another GeForce4 type card (excellent performance in all price brackets) will sell more nVidia cards. FX5200/5600 was a step backwards, IMO.

I'm chugging along great with my Ti4200 though 🙂.

AA was never a big deal for me anyway,I never buy a card on the basis if AA works with HL2 or not,in the end it`s performance and value for money that I look at.

maybe this will stop all the reposts about it not working

I always found those threads funny,I mean HL2 is not even out yet or nowhere near completion,in the end you can`t judge the hardware(video card) until the software(HL2) is officially released, besides we all know they will fix certain problems in the meantime like they have.

Hmm they already have a problem fixed for a game that has yet to be released..well they're sure ahead of the game 🙂

I want the 5700 Ultra that'll run 1024x768 @ 32 High Detail with some FSAA Ansio at 70FPS.... 😛

Seems to have been mentioned in this chat log that Valve have resolved that Antialiasing issue they identified with vid cards.
@valve-gary: "What about FSAA?" - Anti-aliased has been fixed on all cards.
@valve-gary: "Do you use HLSL or Cg for your dx9 shaders?" - HLSL.
@valve-gary: Anti-aliasing has been fixed for all cards.
Good news for all.
*** THIS WAS FROM A CHAT LOG, THEY HAVE THE WHOLE CHAT LOG AT WWW.AUSGAMERS.COM, ALL U NEED TO DO IS SCROLL DOWN ON THE MAIN PAGE AND U WILL SEE THE THING THAT SAYS "Valve fix HL2 AA issues for all cards" IN BOLD BIG LETTERS ***END QUOTE***

😀😀😀

At what cost? Performance hit, how much. Doesn't my 9700 Pro can handle it when it comes out in November, if not then I'll upgrade.

Believe me, your 9700Pro will do just fine with HL2. 😛

Yeah 9700 pro is what they want you to have. If you have something around that, no need to worry at all. If you are at a geforce 3 level, now might be a good time to upgrade.

Not.

Will you stop articulating around the fact you think anything above your video card is over kill? Must we all buy 4200's to make you happy Schadenfroh? That is the expression I've been getting from you.
