Hell on Wheels? Waste of time or Deadwood?

I hear people talking about this show. Are we talking as good as the Wire or Deadwood?

Not as good as the Wire or Deadwood. But Deadwood doesn't hold a candle to the Wire.

That isn't what you are asking. Hell on Wheels is a very entertaining show. It is better than most everything on CBS/NBC/ABC/FOX.

If it had a really solid character like Al Swearengen it would be just as good if not better than Deadwood.

I only saw a few episodes of Deadwood well after it was cancelled, so never gave it much thought.

Hell on Wheels is good though. I think the season 2 finale is coming up soon. Seasons are 10 episodes or less.

Hell on Wheels is well worth watching. Not quite Deadwood, but not too far behind.

Lol, people comparing Hell On Wheels* to Deadwood don't begin to understand or appreciate the consumate craft and exquisite greatness of Deadwood, nor can they see through the lumbering, clumsy, cartoon simulacrum that is HOW . . . imho.

It's like trying to compare Tori Spelling to Meryl Streep just because they're both actresses . . . imho.














*Note: I have yet to watch any of the seven eps of HOW cued up on my DVR due to its season one suckage -- has it gotten better this year?

HOW is kinda meh....I'll watch it if there is nothing more compelling on my Tivo.

Deadwood is top shelf entertainment.

Never seen The Wire or Deadwood but I think Hell on Wheels is pretty good, definitely worth checking out for at least a couple episodes.

As an aside, the mini-series currently on AMC (on right now, actually) 'Into The West' is very good as well. Spielberg produced it and it has lots of nice B-listers who make an appearence throughout. I would check that out too.

Deadwood was great, one of my all time favorites. Hell on Wheels is adequate.
