So yesterday her campaign penned an article in response to her competitor saying that the #metoo movement wouldn't exist if people were tougher.
In response her campaign ran an ad as an open letter to Cramer, signed off by "125 victims" of sexual assault. The problem? They did not seek permission of the people to publish their names. From what I heard this morning it's believed the names were pulled from a Facebook post that tagged a number of people asking them to sign off on a letter. It seems they pulled the names of the tagged people. Not an approved list of signatories who agreed to be named.
One woman was on CNN this morning rightfully upset that she was "outed" as a victim. She already walked around feeling like people were looking at her as a victim. now they know her name.
Heitkamp issued an apology and said they would be retracting the letter but the damage is already done.
