Don't let the processor speed fool you. They have RISC instruction sets and longer pipelines. An 800MHz PPC chip is pretty slammin. 2 of them is nuts.
Put it this way.
I have a 40MHz SPARC box that's easily as fast as a P166.
Not that that's fast at all, but if you were around back then, think of the difference between your 486SX/33 and your P166....pretty striking difference.

There's lots of valid reasons to hate Mac but the seemingly high price-to-clock speed ratio ain't one of them.

That's where you're wrong! It sucked until WinXP since 2000 is technically an NT system, not a 95/98 system. :D (And don't point out that XP is a NT system to me either, they "merged" :roll;).
