Been cleaning out some of my old computer stuff to sell on craigslist and stumbled over this card.
I believe it was my very first graphics card with a 3D GPU and it even supported PCI!!!!
Take that all those ISA graphics cards!

LOL

I had the AGP version of this. It was my first real, gaming video card. :D I still have it somewhere.

I still have a couple of ISA tridents 8900's and Tseng labs ET4000's hanging about, they still worked last time I checked.

My first 3D card was my trusty creative 3D Blaster VLB 4mb, I still have that puppy stitting in a 5x86 box, it can run Vquake reasonably well, not much else however.

Heh heh; that was me, too. I bought mine at a computer show in 1999 for $125. Imagine getting a GTX 285 or HD 4890 for that much.

That's about $170 today assuming 3% inflation. So it was priced about like the GTX 260 is today.

I had the earlier Diamond Viper V330 AGP, featuring a massive 4MB VRAM IIRC. And I got a Diamond Monster 3D II 3DFX Voodoo2 8MB PCI card with the pass-through VGA cable to go with it. A whopping 12MB combined video RAM FTW!!!

Diamond Viper V550 AGP was my first video card. Good times. :)

I remember I didn't know jack about video cards at the time, and it was between the V550 and the Matrox G200. I went to Micro Center to check stuff out and they had a bunch (like 20-30) of Open Box Matrox cards at the front of the store, which pretty much sealed the deal in favor of the V550.
