I remembered how most of us "rebel-CS" players talked about it, but I guess we're back to CS or TFC now :)

I still play it. I haven't played CS in almost a month.

There seem to be more and more DoD servers every day, and judging from their forums, there's an EXTREMEly large playing community. Hardly what you'd call 'dying out'.

I still play DoD. I actually like it more than CS. There also seems to be more servers for DoD every day.

I love DoD. Its guns, despite being 60 year old technology, actually shoot where you point them.

What do you mean it died?

I play it way more than CS? It fvcking rules! Especially for being Beta 1. Certain maps need balancing (such as Omaha where it should be only 1/2 or 2/3 as many Axis as Allied players), and there are some quirks in the interface (grenade throwing isnt smooth) but its fun overall.

i meant it died out as a topic here on the forums, guess it wasn't clear :Q

Grenade tossing is lame, it barely goes anywhere. Other than that, the guns are SO accurate and its fun picking the enemy off from a distance with short 3-shot bursts :)

In early CS beta stages you could jump and awp with dead accuracy. They fixed it in later ones, so I'm assuming its only a matter of time for DoD's creators to fix it.

Another convert here. I haven't touched CS since I loaded DoD. I am eagerly awaiting the release of 1.1 though.

DoD rules. I just recently started playing CS,(due to all the mention I see here of it), and tried DoD also. I definitely play DoD more.

The speed cheat sucks, though. Makes sniping tougher, but I can still hit 'em. :)

Played for about two hours tonight and NO SPEED CHEAT! Wow, that was amazing.

I really hope they can dod_tstation and dod_dam in the next release. Those maps suck. dod_dam isn't THAT bad, but dod_tstation is the worst map there is -- one entrance to the base, and if Germans go light infantry, they can just keep tossing grenades in the passage to hold off Allies.

Any idea why no one plays dod_oslo? I have yet to play that map, and it looks awesome. It's really weird because I have yet to see it on any server rotation, and I've been playing constantly for over a week.

im so tired of people making excuses for DOD's sh1tty quality by saying "its just beta 1!"
whatever, cs is the product of one person, while DOD had many team members to draw from. They also had exactly the same amount of time to make the mod, gooseman wasn't given a headstart with the SDK or anything. Not to mention DOD has been hyped and in development for a loooooong time...and all we got was..that

gUEv: What's so "sh|tty" about DoD? There are a few minor bugs (spawning, scoped weapons [you can have a scoped pistol if you're a sniper!], probably a few others along with a few cheats that have cropped up) but overall it is well done. ANY game that is a Beta 1 will have some problems -- I'm fairly certain that CS probably had some major problems early on since it took to ver. 7.0 before it was released officially. The fact that there is a development team vs. one guy really doesn't amount to a hill of beans. Maybe Gooseman didn't have a life while the DoD team did. Who cares?

The historical accuracy is pretty good, and the playability is excellent. Some of the maps are fantastic just as some are crappy. CS still has some really awful maps and its fair share of idiosyncracies.
