This happened a couple of times with the RC5 client, one of which was a Team Anandtech member. IIRC, the police recovered his PCs, but held them for several years as "evidence". When he finally got them back, they were pretty trashed. RAM missing, etc.

I read about it on the S@H forum, possibly even before i joined the TeAm. Could of been RC5 but i was thinking it was SETI. Maybe i think that cause of where i read it 😕
