The volcano 6 with the copper insert or the stock amd heatsink... which should i use, until i can get replacement parts for my Alpha 8045 (....anyone know where i can get those, btw?)?

What 8045 accesories do you need?
You can find plastic/noeprene washers at hardware stores (ACE, etc.) as well as the hex nuts.
You can always call alpha if you need something.

I need new springs and washers and stuff... i will probably just go by the hardware store and pick up some things...

i put the volcano 6cu on and some AS3, and my temps are around 5-10c lower than the stock heatsink (AS3 was used on that too).

Thats what i did:
Stock HEATSINK
New, cheapo 6000RPM, 29CFM fan instead of stock fan
Arctic Silver instead of pad
=
41 degree idle, 45 load (as opposed to 46 idle and 52 load on "total" stcok). Knowing about the peak conductivity of metal i decided to overclock to 200FSB instead of stock 166. Idle=45, busy=52 Kick ass, and only cost 9 bux. Power of the brain!
