I tried updating to 1.35. It didn't let me. First attempt froze at 64 sectors followed by BSOD/reboot. Second attempt completed but froze after, rebooted and it still at 1.33. Tried a secure erase, and once again "drive is frozen". Tried again and was able to get to "completed" part of it, but again froze and didn't actually update.

Reinstalled OS again on it, that actually did work. Everything *seems* to be working fine so far, but, I cannot seem to update to 1.35 just the same.

bring that issue over there and they will help sort you out.

and just an FYI again.. that 1.35 may reduce the chances of panic locking this drive again(which you bios seems to have issue with). I'd be updating before using that drive with what I've seen happen to these drives in the last 1.5 years. Just trying to push that thought/concern home a bit more to save you even more headaches, is all.

Good luck with it

I've submitted another comment to my existing ticket with OCZ as it's not yet closed. We'll see what they say! At least for now it's working.

I've done three series of ATTO benchmarks on my OCZ and two WD Blacks (I have the 64MB and 32MB cache 1TB units). Anyone know of a good place to host the pics?

From left to right, ATTO results of OCZ, WD Black 1TB with 64MB cache, then 1TB Black with 32MB.

OK so the pics didn't turn out too awesome, but that's about 130MB/s out of a WD Black, pretty impressive no?
I know there are faster SSDs out there than a Vertex 2 on SATA-2, so I won't comment on that bit. lol.
